Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy, Dorchester, Massachusetts
DeIulis Brothers has completed a large number of projects for the Archdiocese of Boston. This recently completed school building project was a major renovation to the Lower Mills Campus of the Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy. Handicap accessibility upgrades included installing a new elevator and shaft within the core of the front 1915 building. All new MEP systems were put in place along with a complete restoration of the exterior envelope, including new roofing, windows and masonry repairs. During the rough carpentry phase, large floor areas were reframed and several stairwells were relocated and rebuilt, which required some building sections to be shored from the basement to the roof. DeIulis Brothers used its own crews to complete the initial interior demolition, concrete and rough and finish carpentry work.
