Paul Revere Elementary School, Revere, Massachusetts

Paul Revere Elementary School, Revere, MassachusettsDeIulis Brothers was the successful bidder on this new K-5 elementary school that also includes separate classroom areas for early childhood and special education programming. The building also accommodates a gymnasium, cafeteria, library, art room and computer room. The project fronts on a heavily travelled road and is bordered on both sides by narrow residential streets. The existing school and three multi-family homes were demolished to make way for the new building. A higher than anticipated quantity of unsuitable and unregulated soils had to be excavated, stockpiled, tested and removed, and then replaced with structural fill, delaying the start of building construction. DeIulis Brothers used its own crews to form and pour the concrete foundations during the winter months and, after the structural steel was in place, self-performed the detailed masonry work through the summer and fall. DeIulis Brothers also used its own crews to install the interior wood finishes, site utilities, site improvements and play equipment.
