Girls Incorporated of Lynn, Lynn, Massachusetts
DeIulis Brothers successfully negotiated this historic rehabilitation project that converted the original Lynn High School, which later became a training school for the shoe industry, into the new home for this Lynn based non-profit providing educational and recreational programs and activities for pre-teen and teenage girls. In addition to restoring the original 1850 structure, including significant reconstruction of the building’s structural elements that resulted from decades of non-use, neglect and exposure to the weather, DeIulis Brothers also constructed a comparably sized steel framed addition for a new gymnasium and administrative offices. At the schematic design stage DeIulis Brothers was selected to act as the construction manager and provided pre-construction services to fast-track the project through design development, negotiating with design build MEP and fire protection subcontractors in arriving at a GMP for construction. DeIulis Brothers utilized its own carpenter crews to complete the structural repairs, wood exterior and interior finishes, as well as its own crews to complete the masonry, concrete foundations and site work.
