New Entrance Lobby Salem Hospital

New construction of main entrance lobby with covered drop off and pick up area. The new building was constructed under the existing Surgi-Center day surgery building. The area below was sloping and partially ledge. The main floor aligned with the fourth floor of the Davenport Building at grade; however the building extended down to the third floor to house the mechanical equipment. This depth required the removal of a large quantity of ledge by hammering and the installation of micro-piles in locations that the soils were not suitable for bearing. DeIulis Brothers used its own crews to perform the earthwork and site utilities, pour and place the concrete footings and foundations. The lobby featured terrazzo floors and included spaces for a gift shop, coffee shop, boardroom and chapel. DeIulis Brothers own carpenters installed the extensive interior finishes.
